Artist & Writer
Molly Davidson (she/her), lesbian writer and river runner, is an artist and poet primarily concerned with the notion of wonder. Her work explores power, pleasure, feminine hunger, myth and archetype, social justice, healing, queer love, politics, pop culture, and climate change. She holds an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College where she worked as the assistant poetry editor for Lumina Journal. Her poems have appeared in American Chordata, Stain’d Magazine, Rust & Moth, Nurture Literary, Superfroot, and The Hunger Journal. Her poem “By Hand” was selected as a 2022 finalist for The Best Of The Net anthology.
Thanks to a deep love of organization and community, she’s worked in nonprofit administration. She teaches writing at Sarah Lawrence Writing Institute, Lighthouse Writers Workshop, and Denver School of the Arts. An introverted Leo Sun and Cancer Moon, she frequently retreats to the imaginal realm for much needed respite. She grew up and currently lives in Colorado, on stolen Cheyenne and Arapahoe land. She often wonders, upon arriving at her destination, if she blew out the candle on her kitchen counter.

What i do
-
In 2021 I earned my MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. The primary genre I studied was poetry, but since graduating I have also found great pleasure in writing nonfiction. I believe in writing as a source of alchemy and discipline.
-
Making something where there once was nothing has long been my obsession. Though I am not a formally trained artist, each time I create something with my hands I feel a childlike sense of wonder, of miracle, of possibility. I primarily work with the mediums of watercolor, jewelry, resin, and acrylic paint.
-
I love teaching because it is an opportunity to collaborate with other writers and creatives. My philosophy is to nurture an inquisitive and supportive community where students can experiment with their writing. I often integrate embodied writing practices into my lessons because I believe in empowering students to access their bodies’ innate artistic wisdom.
